I have found taking the time to look at Designing for Flexible Learning has been beneficial, in the way that I as it has given me the chance to begin to apply the different ways we could incorporate flexible learning into our courses which I had been considering. This has given me a chance to plan how we could do it.
So far we have created a Digital Literacy group within our department who have received funding from Foundation School to create a variety of short videos cover basic computing skills, like opening and saving a file. This is in line with the idea which was included in my presentation regarding creating a video for the process of conducting short tasks – it’s great to see these videos being created.
I still agree with my previous post regarding my idea of flexible learning, but feel that I have been able to realise how flexible learning could benefit those students attending the Community Learning Centres. I think the idea of the videos, along with handouts and our existing resources combined cover a range of learning styles which is something I noted that we would need to consider in my blog, I am pleased that we will now meeting the different needs of learners with the new resources being developed.
